Ends another Ambitious girl - NIKITA TOMAR

The Gazette. Scrolling through my Instagram feed, I came across the news where a girl has been shot dead. This news is no less to shake the myth- we have been living in a safe world. What estranges me is the very fact that no place, no time, no human and in fact nothing is worth trusting on matters of life. Just a moment or a fraction of seconds past and the person remains not in form of flesh but as a mere memory. The value of human life has been deduced to the extent that hardly matters.

A healthy going person, focusing and living her/his life, meets an unfortunate happening and becomes just a memory.

I came to know that the girl was named Nikita Tomar and the guy who shot her is named Tauseef who shot her directly in her head outside her college at Ballagarh. I pity the girl, she must have had dreams, visions and planning for her life, just as every other person has. She must have scored her best in the academics in view of creating the most productive life that she may offer someday. She must have dreamt of making her parents proud someday, she must have sacrificed plenty of her desires due to her middle class lifestyle. She must have gone through a lot, just as we do. Every person is dealing his/her own battle, this is the present day Mahabharata already, where the battle is ongoing and never ending. She must have met disappointments and failure, of course, yet she never gave up. She survived for the sake of the bigger goal of her life. Is this how it all ends? Is this justifiable? Is this the end she deserved? Was this desirable?

What satisfaction does this drastic incident cause? What compelled him to step not an ordinary torture or stocking but to snatch her life in fact. I ponder deep in these dilemmas and wonder is it impatience? Or is it rejection? Is this so difficult to have patience for a while? Is it so urgent to jump into conclusions? Is it not appropriate to take a moment and try listening and understanding, after all the next person(Nikita) is also a human. Why is it not important to listen to the other end of the story?

The generation I have been living is so impatient and furious that it hardly matters whether the consequences of the performing actions are tough. This degenerated generation is so self-absorbed and focused that it even murders guiltlessly for the sake of satisfying the Raudra Rasa(as termed by BharataMuni). Does it make you heroic? Does it let you gain the result you wanted? Is this what you wanted?

The question is not about punishing him or going to the legal complications for years and dragging the matter. The question is about 'safety' and 'life'. This heinous crime has ended her life leaving her parents regret forever for the incomparable loss, leaving her brothers silenced to their strength, leaving her sisters depressed with an eternal void. With the end of a brave woman like Nikita, there ends a bubble, that society creates. A bubble of myths. Myth of life.
